Lead Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Technical Ownership

• Translate client/business requirements into architecture, feature scope, backlog, milestones, and acceptance criteria.
• Own delivery from discovery, estimation, implementation, QA, deployment, and handover.
• Make technical decisions with clear trade-offs around speed, maintainability, security, cost, and business impact.
• Escalate early when scope, timeline, data access, or technical feasibility creates risk.

2. AI-Accelerated Engineering

• Use AI coding agents and developer tools responsibly to speed up coding, refactoring, debugging, testing, and documentation.
• Create clear prompts, task breakdowns, review checklists, and guardrails for agent-assisted work.
• Verify AI-generated code before merge, especially around security, data privacy, dependencies, and edge cases.
• Build reusable patterns, templates, and internal playbooks that help the team deliver faster over time.

3. Software Development and Architecture

• Build and review web applications, APIs, workflow automations, data integrations, dashboards, and AI assisted features.
• Design pragmatic architecture suitable for project size, budget, timeline, and future maintenance.
• Ensure code quality through review, testing, observability, documentation, and deployment discipline.
• Work across front-end, back-end, database, API integration, and AI/LLM service layers as needed.

4. Client and Stakeholder Communication

• Join client meetings to clarify requirements, explain technical options, present progress, and manage expectations.
• Communicate technical complexity in a way non-technical stakeholders can understand.
• Prepare technical notes, timelines, demos, issue logs, and decision records.
• Protect team focus while keeping clients and internal stakeholders informed.

5. Team Leadership and Delivery Enablement

• Lead junior/mid engineers, vendors, or cross-functional teammates when assigned.
• Break work into clear tickets, define done, review output, unblock teammates, and keep delivery moving.
• Coordinate with Product, PM, Design, QA, AE, and client teams.
• Leave behind reusable documentation, technical standards, and handover notes

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, with evidence of owning project delivery end-to-end.
• Strong practical experience in at least one modern web stack such as TypeScript/Node.js, React/Next.js, Python/FastAPI, or similar.
• Can work across front-end, back-end, API integration, database, deployment, and debugging without heavy supervision.
• Has used AI coding agents or AI developer tools in real work, not just experiments.
• Has experience talking directly with clients, business stakeholders, or non-technical users.
• Can estimate, plan, prioritize, and explain delivery trade-offs clearly.
• Comfortable with Git, code review, issue tracking, documentation, and production-readiness practices.
• Understands basic security, privacy, access control, and data handling risks.
